and Lee Phillips Cast: Jackie Lavant & The Fashions Courtesy of Jamie Record Co. I generally like Anna Kendrick and was excited for her directorial debut. One of the problems is that I didn’t know it was based on true events. So I kept waiting for the movie to “start” because from start to finish I felt like the movie started very slowly and where the “big thing” never really happened.
But I don’t think they can dramatize a true story that much
Overall the directing and acting are good, but I still think they could have written it a bit more exciting. My disappointment is mostly because since I didn’t know it was a true story, I thought it would go in a completely different direction once it got to the dating show part. Like she somehow found out one of the guys was a serial killer and exposed him herself by asking witty questions; actually, I wish it had been a bigger part of the movie, some kind of psychological thriller where the Slumdog Millionaire meets the finale of A Matter of Honor. And to me, that sounds like a really cool movie that I would have liked to see.

Unfortunately, from that perspective, this movie was a slightly less exciting journey for me. The final season of What We Do in the Shadows is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres of the month.
