An exotic animal turns into a monster and becomes a deadly danger to all passengers. It was a big hit because the title was simple and the film delivered exactly what the title promised. 18 years later, writer/director Ezra Tsegaye thinks it’s still a great idea to rip this idea off!
Apparently, "Monster on a Plane" will never cause to stir
A lot of people probably won’t even see it, but one thing’s for sure: it’s a lot of fun to watch under the right circumstances. Make no mistake, "Monster on a Plan" is a terribly bad movie! But it’s a FUN bad movie, and sometimes horror fanatics can really enjoy it.
There is nothing original about the film
"Snake in a plane" – duh – while the monster looks exactly like the "Critters", and its infrared vision is borrowed from the "Predator". Oh wait, there’s one original trick! The monster’s flatulence is a complex attack mechanism that causes people to hallucinate.
Thankfully, the film doesn’t take itself too seriously
Great! An irresponsible scientist smuggles it on a charter flight to Berlin, escapes during a bit of turbulence and naturally goes on a bloody killing spree."Monster on a Plane" is a German production, but shot entirely in English, and the language skills and accents of all the ensemble members are laughably terrible. Although gory, the digital effects are sordid and the complete opposite of disturbing.
