Men and women live in a giant underground silo with different rules that they believe are in place to protect them from the toxic and crumbling world. Whether they’re exploring the stars, escaping dystopias, or making the world a better place, these women are the stuff of science fiction. Season 1 covers the first 30 chapters of the book “Wool” — the book has 82 chapters. The floor fans in various episodes rotate in the wrong direction, relative to the orientation of the blades. Featured in WatchMojo: Top 10 TV Shows of 2023 You Need to Watch (2023). Considering that the “Wool Trilogy” is such a popular book series, I imagine that many people have already read the book.
But not this time
Like I did… About 5 years before this series came out. I still remember when I was reading the first book, I just couldn’t stop reading! This was a fantastic story. Usually, having read the books prevents me from watching a show based on them. It was the memory of the “I couldn’t stop reading” experience that made me decide to give this show a chance. And after watching the first 2 episodes, I can tell you that this streaming adaptation is amazing!

And it captures the mood I remember from reading the books so well! So I can’t wait to see all the upcoming episodes that come out. As I write this, I’ve already learned that a second season is in the works. I imagine that each season will cover one of the “Wool Trilogy” books. So I’m pretty sure that season 2 will turn out to be as good as season 1! However, I hope that when it comes to a third season, the producers will decide not to use the third book as a basis.
Because honestly, with the third book, the story ends
And I love the world of Silo so much that I would like it to continue with a fourth, fifth installment. As a final observation, I want to say that I think AMC made a huge mistake in not keeping this series for themselves. The fact that they sold it in 2021 to Apple and instead focused on producing content like “Lucky Hank” shows the “capability” of AMC’s current management. The fact that AMC, who ended up producing the series anyway, is virtually controlled by the Dolan family could be a big factor in this. I myself would not be surprised if the Dolan family took full control and, as part of a future deal, sold AMC to Apple. There may already be more in the works and agreed upon than is publicly admitted at the time of writing this review.

But this show seems to be a great success nonetheless. I’ll give it an 8.4/10, just missing a 9-star rating on IMDb. But if it stays true to its original story in the first season, while keeping the execution at its current level, I’d definitely be willing to bump my rating up to 9 stars. A new season of “Silo” is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.
