After the events of Batman (2022), Oz Cobb, also known as The Penguin, plays a game to take control of Gotham’s criminal underworld. Aside from the bat signal in the last shot of the season finale, we never got our Robert Pattinson in the lead role in “The Penguin.” In this short video IMDb tries to answer: Where the hell was Batman?. Colin Farrell fought hard to have his version of the Penguin smoke tobacco in Batman (2022), but failed. For his own series, however, the character is depicted as an occasional smoker, with a penchant for cigars..
He is impressive
The umbrella falls and the logo changes to the Warner Bros. logo. Featured in Graham Norton and guests: Lady Gaga/Demi Moore/Colin Farrell/Richard Ayoade/Jack Savoretti (2024). Farrell STEALS this series.
The performance is sharp and picturesque
There is nothing about the character that even hints at Farrell. The New York accent, the swaying and limping, the attitude: you’d swear it was a different person. The incredible prosthesis is very realistic and adds to the character. There is nothing cartoonish about it.
That’s a shame
Well written and suspenseful. This is a great counterpart to Christopher Nolan’s Batman. In fact, I’d say this blew the Marvel line out of the water. I hope it could be a season 2 but I know this is limited.
