INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: Before starting the repack setup, make sure you have uninstalled all Sims 2 games, including registry entries (if any).

After uninstalling the previous Sims 2 game, make sure there is no “EA Games” folder in the Documents folder (“My Documents” for XP users), as “EA Games” contains the “The Sims 2” folder, which contains the previous game . cache and mods that can cause the game to crash. This folder will be recreated for this repack after the first run of the game. DISABLE AN ANTI-VIRUS BEFORE RUNNING “Setup.exe” (IMPORTANT) as an anti-virus will mark “Setup” as a suspicious file, which may cause the installation to fail to start or run incorrectly. (For Avast users: disable DeepScreen in the antivirus settings.) After running the setup, click “Configure”, enter the installation directory and click “Next”.
Be patient, next time it will start normally and quickly
Select the software you want (Direct X [located in the Redist folder]), click “Next” and finally click “Install”. PLAY THE GAME IN DESKTOP CONNECTION if you run it as administrator. When you first open the game, it takes a while to start (black screen) and the intro video skips. The game always shows the Mansion and Garden Stuff loading screen because it’s the latest expansion and has everything in it. When you first load each world, it will take a while to load.
Please be patient
It’s like running 10 games at once (don’t assume it’s frozen). Just wait and let it load. Always open the game with “Run as administrator” option to avoid crashes/issues while saving the game. If it still crashes, lower the graphics settings in the game settings and check if it meets the system requirements. NOTE: Change “Shadows” from high to low or medium through the in-game graphics/performance settings, otherwise a black square will appear under the Sims instead of inner shadows…
