What is Incognito mode? How to use it?

Incognito mode, also known as private browsing, is a feature available in most modern web browsers that allows users to browse the internet without leaving any traces of their activity. It is a great way to protect your privacy and ensure that your online activity is not tracked by third parties.

Incognito mode is a browser feature that allows users to browse anonymously. It is useful for browsing the internet without sharing your personal information.

Incognito mode is similar to incognito tab in other browsers.

How to use it?

When you’re in Incognito mode, your browser won’t store your browsing history, cookies, site data, or information you enter in forms. That means that when you close the Incognito window, none of the information you viewed or entered will be saved to your computer. Any files you download, however, will still be stored on your device. You can access Incognito mode in most popular web browsers, including Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, and Microsoft Edge. To enter Incognito mode, simply open your browser and select the option from the menu bar.

Depending on the browser, the option may appear as “Incognito mode,” “Private browsing,” or something similar. When you use Incognito mode, it’s important to remember that any activity you perform within the window is still visible to your Internet Service Provider (ISP) and the websites you visit. Even though your browsing history won’t be stored locally, it will still be visible to the websites you visit. Also, keep in mind that any bookmarks you create while in Incognito mode will be visible to other users if you’re using a shared or public computer.

To use Incognito mode on Chrome, you just need to press CTRL + SHIFT + N.

On Safari and Firefox, the way to use Incognito mode is different. To use Incognito mode on Safari, press CMD+SHIFT+I.

For Firefox, press ALT+SHIFT+N or click the menu bar and select “New Incognito Window”.

Incognito mode is designed to prevent websites from storing information about your browsing activity. When you enable Incognito mode, your browser will no longer store your browsing history, cookies, site data, or any other data that could be used to track your activity. Additionally, any files you download will not be stored in your computer’s Documents or Downloads folder. To enable Incognito mode, open your web browser and click on the hamburger menu icon. This is typically located in the top right corner of the browser window.

From the menu, select “New Incognito Window”. You can also open an Incognito window by pressing the keyboard shortcut CTRL + SHIFT + N on Windows PCs or Command + Shift + N for Macs. When you’re finished using Incognito mode, simply close the window. All your activity from that window will be deleted, and your browsing history will not show up in your regular browsing window. It’s important to note that Incognito mode does not provide complete anonymity. While it prevents websites from tracking your online activity, it doesn’t hide your IP address or stop your internet service provider from monitoring your activity. Additionally, any files you download while in Incognito mode will still be visible in your computer’s File Explorer.

Overall, Incognito mode is a useful tool for protecting your privacy while browsing the internet. It’s important to remember, however, that it doesn’t offer complete anonymity, and it’s still possible for your online activity to be monitored.

These were the ways to use Incognito mode on different browsers. You can use this mode for any browser like chrome, safari, firefox etc.
